The Holidays of 2011

The Holidays this year have been great so far. We spent Thanksgiving with Logan's family. We had dinner at Cindy's house with lots of family there. It was great to spend time doing crafts and such with the girls. :) We then had to go to Twin Falls on Friday night because one of our vehicles needed the timing belt changed, and Tracie's sister-in-law's baby shower was on Saturday. Logan was sad that he didn't get to spend as much time with his family, but was glad we were able to save a lot of money by having my dad help him out with fixing the car.

Christmas was crazy! We spent Christmas with Tracie's family and boy did we get spoiled! We had lots of fun. We traveled to Twin Falls the morning of Christmas Eve and spent the day getting settled, visiting with family that stopped by, and playing games. My family also does a gift exchange where we draw names and get them a gift. We exchanged those gifts on Christmas Eve, because it is tradition in my family to open a gift on Christmas Eve and we thought those would be good ones to open. The next morning, Christmas morning, we woke up to a surprise from Santa ;). We must have been on the nice list because we got plenty! Even Jake got plenty to last him a while! My dad had Jake's name for gift exchange and he looked all over town to find his gift and fortunatly, was able to get the last one in town! He got Jake a little rocking horse that talks and sings. It was so cute putting him on it! I have a video of him on it, if I can get it to upload. Logan spoiled me this year and got me a sewing machine, and I got him (but let him pick it out) a home theatre system.

Anyway, we love our families and are very grateful for the spirit and meaning of the holidays. We want to thank everyone for your support and gifts you have given us for Christmas and throughout the year. We love you all and wish you a Happy New Year!

My, How He's Grown!

Well it has been a while since my last post and thought I would update. We have been so busy with the holidays and Logan finishing school, and me going back to work, that it has been hard to find time to update.
Logan finished his first semester of College with some B's and C's and is proud but knows he needs to up his game if he wants to get into Dental School. He finally finished registering for this next semester and is excited about some of his classes.
Tracie stopped nursing Jake since she went back to work and has been having a hard time losing the extra weight that she gained while pregnant. So she started dieting the 1st of November and lost 20 pounds in the month of November.
Jake, who is the highlight of our life, is learning so many new things. He is doing better with sitting up, has found out he has a voice and uses it, giggles, and is learning to grab things. He is just as cute as can be and we love having him in our life.

Baby Update!

have been so busy enjoying Jake that I haven't blogged in a while. At the end of September, Jake and I went down to Twin Falls for a couple days to stay with my family. We had lots of fun going to watch my sister play volleyball and hanging out with my mom and sisters.
We blessed Jake the week after Conference on October 9th, and he needed a hair cut before the blessing. So Logan held Jake while I tried my best to get his hair even.

Jake's 5th Generation Picture. Great Grandpa Merrill (to the Left of me) is the only living great-grandparent both Logan and I have. It was nice to have him able to attend and be able to take such a rare picture!
Jake weighed in at 11 lbs at his one month WIC appointment and is growing so well! It seems he learns something new everyday! The latest one that I am enjoying is he sleeps all night! Between 6-8 hours, with only a few night here and there that he wakes up every 3 or 4 hours-but it has been really nice to sleep!

He loves to bath, shower, and be in the water-the second he hears the water turn on, he quiets down and is so content. (See video below-his funny shower face!)

I love the little things he does, such as, eating his fist when he starts getting hungry. He has started using his tongue more too, so we like to play with him a little and have him lick an "invisible popcicle".

He has also become more vocal over the last couple weeks and will "talk" with me. I love it cause he smiles so much more and just seems so happy! (See video below.)

The last week or 2, I have been trying to get out and exercise more and decided we needed a stroller so I could go walking whenever I wanted to. So since we got it, Jake and I have been walking up to the school to meet Logan just when he finishes his classes for the day and then walks home with us. It is nice cause it gives me about an hour of exercise and Jake either sleeps the whole time or sits so contently and enjoys being outside.

Jake's First Bath!!

Jake's bellybutton finally fell off on saturday so we decided to give him his first bath. He seemed to really like it! The only time he would really start fussing is when we had him out of the water for too long and he would get cold.

After he was all clean we pulled him out and wrapped him up! He just laid there and looked around waiting for what was next. What a sweetie!!

Here is a short clip I made of Jake one day when he and I were hanging out in bed all day. I had been up all night the night before with food poisoning. So, here he is, you kind of get a good taste of how mellow this little guy is. He would sleep all night without waking up if I didn't wake him up to feed him. He doesn't cry much, except when he's super hungry and fusses when he is trying to poop. He sleeps so calmly and will sleep through pretty much anything!!! We love him so much!! Enjoy!

Jake Logan Thompson

Jake came into our lives at 12:38 am on August 31,2011. He weighed 7 lbs, and was 20 inches long!

We have enjoyed this guy tremendously!!!!!!!!! He is a joy to have and feel very blessed to have such a sweet spirit in our life.

The Birth Story:

My doctor let me do an elective induction, so a week in advance, we scheduled the induction for the morning of August 30th. He told me to call the night before to get any special instructions. So the evening before I called in and they told me to be here at 6 am and to call 30 minutes before to make sure they had a bed for me. We went to bed-and could hardly sleep-and got up at 5am to get ready. I called in at 5:30 and they told me that it was not going to happen and that they would call me later if they could get me in. We were pretty disappointed and went back to bed for an hour or so. At about 10am we still hadn't heard anything and so called them again-again the same answer with no hint as to when would be a closer time. So we sat around and waited some more. In the mean time, I called my doctor to see if he wanted me to come in for a checkup if they couldn't get me in and they said they would call me back. So I called the hospital again at 12...they must have thought we were a nag cause they told me they were still waiting on a few girls to deliver. FINALLY at 12:30 pm they called us and said to get there within 45 min!! So we jumped in the car and got over there as soon as possible just in case they changed their mind! :)

We admitted me and went up to labor and delivery to get started. They started me on the oxytocin for contractions at about 1:30pm. After talking to the nurse she said that my doctor called in upset that they didn't get me in sooner and that they were going to get me started on things quickly.

A few hours went by and I was dialated to a 4 and they came in to check the position of the baby with an ultrasound and he was in perfect position.

So they gave me the choice to get my epidural and then break my water or vice versa. Let's just say that i'm glad I chose to get the epidural first, because an hour after they broke my water, I was dialated to a 9 and his head was engaged.

Finally it was time to push and with the help of my mom, Cindy, and Logan, he came out quickly.

We are so happy to have this little guy and are excited to watch him grow! He has already captured our love and admiration cause we think he is just SSSSSOOOOOO cute!

By the way, I am recovering very quickly, in fact it's only been 9 days and I can hardly feel the soreness anymore!! Makes it much easier to go things around the house!!! I am still a little emotional if you talk to me about specific subjects, but I'm hoping my hormones will level out soon. Logan has been a good help to me the last week and we are so thankful to Cindy for cooking us dinner several nights this last week!! I hope that as soon as Jake and I can figure out breastfeeding better that I will have more time to get things done throughout the day!

Baby Yet?

So yesterday I took Castor Oil and waited to see what happens, hoping that it would put me into labor early. Last night at one point I had some very painful contractions but then stopped after about an hour or so. Then this morning my pants were soaked when I got up and so we decided to go in to Labor and Deliver to get checked. They took a swab test, (that came back negative) and did a scope to look at my cervix and see if there is extra fluid. There was extra fluid, and they took a sample of it to look under a microscope and it came back positive for "ferning". (Which I guess is what amniotic fluid looks like when it dries.) So because one test was positive and the other negative they wanted to do another swab test that was a little more sensitive. Because that came back negative, they did an ultrasound to check the amount of fluid left. Seems that I have a lot of fluid left cause they said before they sent me home, that if I get a gush of water-and I should have water running down my leg and puddling on the floor- to come back in.

So, unfortunately, we don't have a baby yet, but it is getting closer to my inducement date, Tuesday. They will be starting me at about 6am so it will be a LONG day!

Camping at Leadore

Last week we spent the whole week up at Big 8 Mile Campground in Leadore. It was nice an cool with a few warm days and lots of rain! We had a good week spending it with family.

Logan and I stayed in a tent but we slept well thanks to the gift Cindy and John gave us that is a double high queen air bed. It was super nice to be able to get up out of bed without too much effort!
Logan enjoyed going on rides with his brothers. He rode so much his bottom got sore. :) He even enjoyed teaching me how to ride a dirt bike!
Logan also went to many of the lakes that surround our campground to go fishing. He didn't get to catch anything but loved spending the time visiting with his brothers.
On Friday, the last day, Logan, Cory, and Greg went on a hard ride up to the Patterson Lodge.

Greg came up the last few days of the week and I got to watch sweet little Vella! :) She loved being outside and was really good about taking naps and playing in her play pen!
She even was good about letting me know when she was cold by grabbing her blanket and holding it up so I could wrap her up!

The Next Step in Life

It has been a long while since I have blogged. We have had a lot go on the last month or so and it's time to update! So I am now at 30 Weeks and am SSSSOOOOOO excited to be in the last weeks! I can definitely feel the baby growing due to the muscle cramping and stretching soreness, and he seems to be sitting lower or more on my bladder because I am going to the bathroom WAY too many times in one day.

So, lately, Logan and I have moved in to a new apartment in Pocatello, and we are finally unpacked. On the weekends, Logan likes to either go dirt biking or fishing. So one weekend we went to American Falls Reservoir. Where we stopped, there was an older gentleman who had been there hours before us, and hadn't caught anything. So Logan decided to try anyway just for fun. We had been there for about and hour or so, and then suddenly, Logan realized he caught a fish! It was quite a fight getting that fish on shore, and this is what we found.

It was a Carp fish, which make Logan a little sad, but he loved his big fish story anyway.

He was so happy to have caught a big fish, what a cute guy!

24 Weeks!!!!

Wow! Time is flying but still going so slow! Here is a picture of my belly at 24 weeks, sorry my head is not in it, I took it with my phone. Jake is growing so big and strong! Anytime I am sitting, he is moving! I love the mornings because that is when he moves the most, and kicks the hardest! Logan like to put his hand on my belly in the morning to feel him, he only has to set his hand gently on my tummy and he can feel every move! He is going to be a strong little guy!

At my doctor's appointment on Tuesday, they gave us the results on the ultrasound we had. He said the baby looks great, I'm doing great, and everything seems to be going great! Oh, but I have to go back in for a routine ultrasound because my kidney seemed to be swollen. He said not to worry, but they will just do another one to check it and make sure it's not getting bigger. I am so glad that everything is going well!

Logan and I are still thinking of middle names but I think we have found one that we both kinda like. We are thinking Jake Christian Thompson. But still up in the air.

Here is my belly at 21 weeks and 5 days! I'm so excited to see my belly grow along with my anxiousness for the days to pass by faster, however, it makes it harder to pick things up, and breath! :) But I'm loving it all the same!

**On a different note, Logan, Cory, and Greg have been all about riding! There conversations consist of camping, dirt bike riding, fixing or adding accessories to their dirt bikes, and anything else that might fit under those categories! He is so excited to go anytime he can and can't wait for the weather to warm up!

Name that Baby!

So, Logan and I have been thinking of names for this little boy ever since we found out what gender he was. When we first decided to have a baby, we had a girl name picked out and had kinda discussed a boy name. The boy name we had was Landon, but once we knew for sure that it was a boy, that name just didn't seem to fit. So we went on websites for names and must I say, there are some VERY interesting names. I came up with a list a few names that I really liked and told Logan, but none of them really seemed right.

One night, I was having a really hard time sleeping. The baby kept moving and I couldn't get comfortable and I kept trying to talk to the baby and tell him to go to sleep. For some reason the letter "J" just kept coming to my mind. So, I started going through all the "J" names that I know and weeding out the ones I didn't really care for. Finally I came to the name Jake, and I really liked it, it just seemed to fit. So the next morning when we woke up, I told Logan what I thought and it took him only a few seconds to say,"Yeah, I really like that name. That works." So there you have it, our little guy's name is going to be Jake. The middle name is still up in the air but it's nice to have a name to call our little guy when we talk to him.

Logan and I went to the doctor on Tuesday (for the first time in 10 weeks) and had all the normal things checked, and we also thought they would do an ultrasound since it had been such a long time and I was 18 weeks and 6 days along. But the doctor informed us that they don't do anatomy ultrasounds until you are 19 weeks and we would have to set up a time to come back next week for that. We were really kinda upset that Logan had taken work off to come and we weren't going to be able to see the baby. So, when I went to schedule my appointment, the lady told us that they couldn't fit us in for an ultrasound for another week! We weren't very happy and she could tell, so she called the office where they will be doing it to see if they had anything sooner. Luckily, they had one the next day! So we took it!

We had been so excited the night before and the morning of. We left for the ultrasound and were so excited. The first thing the tech did, was tell us what sex the baby was and this is what we found:

The tech was trying to get a picture of both his arms but he kept wiggling around.

The tech said it looked good so far, but we would get more results later. He did move my due date up to August 30th!

We are so excited to be having a little one come into our lives. Now I feel like I can actually work on getting things ready. Although, I have to say that it is a little stress relieving that it is not a girl because it seems there is so much more items to purchase with a girl. So, now Logan and I have been looking at names and I have a few that I like but we just haven't had any jump out at us yet.

Inside the New York, New York casino, we found this statue completely made of jellybeans!

We visited the Rainforest Cafe's gift shop in the MGM Grand and they had some fun stuff there! Like this snake that looked pretty real, especially because the neck of it moved.

This is Tracy Tree at the gift shop and she talked- kind of like Grandmother Willow from Pocahauntus.

We went and visited the aquarium at the Silverton Hotel and they had a ton of these sting rays there and they kept swimming over by us. We had a ton of fun just looking at the different fish.

This is the Volcano at the Mirage Hotel. It goes off every night and the volcano is a ways from the street, but when it blows out fire, you can feel the heat really well!

This is Logan and I on top of the Stratosphere. We were holding Cory and Shaely's stuff while they were waiting in line to go on the ride. So we decided to take advantage of the time-since we had just gotten our camera taken hours before.

This is at the Palazzo Hotel. I love the giant butterflies and went to look at what they were made of and Logan decided he liked them too and wanted a picture. OH, and they are made out of false flowers of all different kinds.

While at Fremont St., we watched a guy make this painting our of spray paint. It was really entertaining to watch and very cool looking after.

The trip ride home, we were tuckered out.

Thank Goodness for Good People!

Getting back from our trip created a lot of work for me and a lot more money spending for us than we planned on.

I went Monday morning to renew my license (thank goodness I turned 21 this weekend and needed to do this anyway!) and had an easy time doing so. I then headed over to our bank to close our account and open a new one. Then I ran home to get Logan the documents he would need to go get his license. As I was dropping off his stuff to him, I got a phone call and it was a lady from Cedar City that was looking for Logan. I talked to her and found out that she had picked up Logan's phone and wallet from off the street and was trying to figure out where to send them to return them to him. I was SO relieved! I can't tell you how awesome of a feeling we had that someone would take the time to pick those items up and try to return them!

I gave her the address to send them to and we are just excited that we don't have to spend more money trying to replace those things.

It's funny the impact that things like that have on another person. I know that as the person doing the good deed, you think, "oh, it's what I would hope someone else would do for me" but you don't quite understand the gratefulness and relief you give to others who have a weekend like ours. I can't wait to get the package and send the lady a thank you note!

So keep doing those things that might seem like nothing to you because you don't know the impact it could have on another person's life.

Spring Break and Las Vegas= FUN!

For spring break (and my birthday) Logan decided to take me to Las Vegas again. We loved going last time and had just as much fun this time! We went with Cory and Shaely and we are so glad we had someone to travel with! We drove down Thursday night and stayed at my aunt and uncle's home in St. George and loved visiting with them. Then we got up bright and early the next morning to head the Vegas. Once we got there, we drove down the strip to get familiar with where everything was and parked at the Luxor hotel at the south end of the strip. From there we walked down the strip and checked out a few stores like the Coca~Cola shop and M&M World. We even got to watch a 3-D movie at M&M World. We then checked out what shows were going on that evening and decided on a magic show.

Later that night we checked into our hotel and went to dinner, then the magic show. It was a small audience kind of low key but they had some really cool magic tricks that made even master magician Logan go, "WOW". After the show, it was dark and a perfect time to show Cory and Shaely how amazing the Belagio fountains were. The first song we saw was, God Bless the USA, and the fountain work on it was really breath taking. While it was dark, we walked down the strip to catch some other night performances live the Volcano but didn't make it to Treasure Island in time. So we headed back to the car and went to the hotel. We were all beat! We had been walking all day and were so exhausted we fell right to sleep.

Saturday morning was beautiful. We slept in, went and got breakfast and then went swimming! At 10am! It was so warm and we had a blast! Definitely got us ready for summer here! After swimming for some time we got ready and went to lunch. When we left the restaurant I realized that I forgot my purse in there hanging on the chair. So we went back immediately and it was gone. I was so upset! Not only was my wallet in there, but my keys (which had two keys to my mazda and they are about $75 to have made) and our new camera we purchased at Christmas time (that had all of our pictures on it, which is why you haven't seen any yet :) ). Cory and Shaely were good troopers for hanging out until we got all our credit cards and bank accounts straightened out and went to the police department to fill out a report. Then there was nothing else to do but to move on and continuing having fun. So we went back to the strip and went to the top of the Stratosphere- which is THE tallest building on the strip and anywhere close by- and while Cory and Shaely rode one of the rides they have up there, Logan and I enjoyed the view. It was like I was looking at a google map of the surrounding area, we were so high up, you could see into people's backyards and see for miles!

We went to a few other places on the strip that night that we wanted to see and then went to my birthday dinner. After dinner, we wanted to show Cory and Shaely the Fremont St. experience, so we went there and walked around for a bit and then headed home. We were also beat that night with all the crazy things that happened.

We woke up early on sunday morning and headed home. We decided to stop in Cedar City to take the sacrament and so we found a church and got there right on time only to find that the ward that was supposed to be there, had just moved to another building. So, we headed off. Just down the street from the church, Logan was getting hot and got out of the car to change his pants to some shorts and took his phone and wallet out and set them on the back of the car. He changed and got distracted by someone driving by and got right in the car. We took off and about an hour down the road, Cory says, "Logan, look up on your phone where the next church will be at around 1:00. (Logan has a smart phone) Then for the first time, realized that he didn't grab his phone off the car was kinda bummed. Then a couple minutes later, realized that he didn't have his wallet either. I thought he was just joking, but he wasn't and it was such a weird feeling knowing that you have basically nothing. So I started calling all of Logan's credit card companies to get him all squared away. I could not believe our luck.

We stopped at Jay and Emily's house on the way home for a break and it was nice talking to them. Then we headed the rest of the way home and were glad to get there even though I would have a ton of work to do the next day.

That was our spring break and I hope everyone had as much fun as we did, without the bad luck!

Spring Break Fever!

Well, I don't know about you, but I have Spring Fever. The off-and-on snow we got today was a downer from the last couple of decent days we have had. I am so ready to pull out my sandals and go on walks without worrying about freezing!

I know Logan has Spring Fever, he has just been ichin' to get back out and go riding on his dirt bike he bought this year. He just keeps talking about all the trips he's going to go on this summer and can't wait.

Speaking of trips, Spring Break has gotten Logan thinking. He and Cory came up with this great idea to road trip to Las Vegas this upcoming weekend. (Logan wanted to go mainly for my Birthday.) I originally asked to go visit my family, but since they are all going to be out and about, we had to change our visit to another week. This trip has us so pumped and we are just so excited to go visit there again. We really enjoyed our last trip there and can't wait!

Also, I have been busy to work on my crib bedding making and am almost finished already! I finished quite a bit sooner than I expected, but still have a few things left to do. So far I have made a couple sheets for the mattress and the bumper for the sides. So all that is left is the skirt and a blanket. The blanket I'm sure will take a bit longer, but the skirt should be pretty quick. I will have to post pictures at a later time of my progress. :)

It's Been a While

The last couple months have been very crazy for Logan and I. We went to visit lots of family during the Christmas season and it was at that time that Logan decided he wanted to go to school to be a dentist. So our plans quickly changed from staying in Utah to moving to Pocatello as soon as possible. We put our apartment up for rent and as soon as Logan got a job, he headed to Pocatello. I stayed behind for a few weeks to get things tied up at my job and hopefully sell our apartment. So when the end of January came, we packed up and moved everything to a storage shed in Pocatello. We are currently living with John and Cindy and have enjoyed our stay. We are looking to buy a house and have to wait for Logan to be at his job for at least 6 months before we can be approved for a loan. So we are waiting, driving mom and dad Thompson crazy!

We also found out during all this craziness that we are having a baby! I am currently 14 weeks along and we can't wait until we find out what we are having! I have already been going crazy on Logan about all the things we need to get and he has to remind me that we still have a while to get those things! So, as I have been looking at some items that we need to buy, I decided that I wanted to make my own bedding for the crib-that way I can keep busy instead of being a "Criminal Minds" junkie.

Anyway, we have loved being closer to family and being able to spend more time with everyone. We hope all is going well for everyone and can't wait for this summer's family trip!

Thanksgiving and More!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving dinner! We had lots of yummy food and a great time spent with family. We took some family pictures, that I wanted to post, but have not received yet. We did a little bit of shopping on black friday, but didn't have much to buy. We already did shopping for ourselves, and so we just shopped for other family members. Didn't get very far. Oh well, we still have about 24 more days, right?

Anyway, this upcoming month is full for us. I will keep posting and hopefully can snap a few pics also.

Las Vegas Trip!!!

Logan and I had a couple of days off of work and we decided that we needed to go on a little trip-just he and I. So we decided on going to Las Vegas! We had so much fun! We drove down Friday afternoon and took all day Saturday to walk around, visit places, and just see the town. It was really exciting for both of us because it was both of our first time going there. We started out a pawn shop that now has their own show called Pawn Stars and we really enjoy the show and thought we would go check out the actual place.

This is in front of the Bellagio. For those of you who have been lucky enough to see Las Vegas at night, you will know how amazingly cool the fountain show at the Bellagio is! I put a short clip of it at the end of this blog. They did a different song, with each show and they did them every hour starting at 3pm. We caught the first show and a little bit of a night show. We loved it! Probably our favorite!

Some of the other places we went to was M&M World, the Coca-Cola shop, and the Luxar hotel. We also went to the Human Body Exhibit. It was really neat. Very educational.

After we left Vegas on Sunday morning, we drove to Zion's national park and decided to see how close we could get to Angel's Landing before it got dark.

This is what you see when you start the hike...very beautiful. But this hike was not just beautiful scenery. It was quite the hike! It was only 2.5 miles and we thought it would be no problem!

This is just a small portion of the trail. Most of the begining was full of steep switch backs, then it flattens out a little bit, then you hit this wall of all switch-backs!

This is the edge of the trail...you are supposed to hold onto the chain to keep from falling.

Once you get to the first landing, you look across and see that you have to follow that thin trail all the way to the top to reach angel's landing! Scary to look at!

This was the thinnest part of the trail. They had a chain that was strung along the steep and thin part of the trail to keep from losing balance and what not. They were very nice for the steep parts to help pull yourself up!

It was a very tough hike, but the view was gorgeous!

After hiking we went to the hotel and had a nice relaxing evening-we were so exhasted. (We are both so sore!) Then got up on Monday and came home. We had such a nice weekend! We can't wait for the next trip we can take. We would really like to go back to Vegas again sometime.

The Things Kids Say!

Logan and I have had once again another pretty good week! Of course we worked, and worked, and watched movies and slept. That's really all we do all week. It's the weekends that it seems we LIVE! Ha Ha. This weekend, we both had to work, but we still went out to dinner and had a great time together. Sundays we love! Our calling in our ward is to teach the 8 year olds in primary. We LOVE it! It is so much fun every week. They brighten our day! I have to share this story just because it is too funny not to.
Sunday morning, Logan and I woke up and made cookies. Since our church isn't until 1:00, we have quite a bit of time in the morning. So we made a new recipe of Chocolate Chip Cookies. They came out a little crunchier than we had wanted so we put the cookies we were planning on taking in a container with a piece of bread hoping the bread would soften them up a little bit. When in class, we ask the kids if they can tell us what we taught them last week and if they tell us something from the lesson, then they get a treat. Logan was handing out the cookies and one of the boys responded while grabbing his cookie, "There is NO WAY that piece of bread would trick anyone." Logan and I busted up laughing. It was the funniest thing I think I have heard any of them say!
Another story that might make you laugh. It never surprises me how much Logan pays attention to where things are. We usually take small candies to our kids at church and they stay in my church bag. This last week I happened to lay it down on the kitchen table instead of in the closet (where it normally goes) and Logan says to me one night, "Tracie, where did you hide the candies? I have looked everywhere and I can't find your bag. You must be a good hider!" Me, knowing that my church bag has been on the kitchen table ALL week, looked over at my bag and I responded, "What do you mean you can't find it?" He says, "Will you go get the candies? I want some." So as I walk over and grab the candies out of my bag that is on the kitchen table is respond, "I guess I know where my new hiding spot is."
I love little things like these stories they make life so sweet and fun! I love Logan and I am very happy to be with him-even in the silliest moments.

Weekend Fun

The last couple weeks have been so fun and busy for us! A couple weeks ago, was General Conference weekend. Logan had a missionary reunion that we attended and was able to catch up with old acquaintances and meet I was able to meet new ones. Logan loved it. Later that night we had Corey stay with us which Logan loved...he loves spending time with his brothers!

On Saturday, Logan and I hit the farmer's markets and we bought some fresh produce. Some of which was grapes. When we got home Logan realized we bought concord grapes and decided to experiment with making his own juice. So he squeezed all the grapes and followed a recipe he found on line and in the end he only got about 2 cups out of it. Needless to say he decided that it is not worth making it yourself!

Later that night, my cousin gave me a call and said that they came down for the afternoon session, but didn't have anywhere to stay, so they came and stayed then night.

Sunday morning, my brother and his wife joined us for breakfast and for conference. I decided to use up some of the zucchini that Cindy gave us and make some zucchini bread. Everyone loved it! We loved having family visit us!

This last weekend, Tracie got a free night stay voucher for a suite hotel because the company she works for cleaned for them. We went and stayed there Friday night after work. We had a blast! I won a WII from work and so we took that to the hotel and tried that out for the first time there. It was a nice little vacation close to home. We got up the next morning and traveled to Park City to the Outlets there to do some shopping. We had a good time.

Saturday evening, we went to dinner with some friends from work to The Cheesecake Factory. It is a very nice restaurant, but some of the food is not as good. However, their cheesecake is really great!

We are still loving just hanging out with each other and keep looking to the future!

Logan and I have been very busy the last couple months. We have enjoyed working together, visiting family, and just simply spending time together.

We have been working really hard, long hours and it's funny because we don't mind. Probably because we work together and it feels like we are together a lot. Logan is doing really well at his new job and everyone seems to like him! Good job hunny!

Tracie has been CRAZY busy with work. This last week she has been running the shop all by herself with some help from a co-worker. It has been very stressful and she is sooooo happy that the week is over.

At work, Tracie has been working hard on a biggest loser win. It is a 12 week program and she is down to the last week. So far she has lost a total of 22 pounds!

We have really enjoyed going to visit family for camping trips, baby blessings, homecomings, and just because! We love being with family and can not wait until Cory comes home in just a few days! We can't wait for the holidays that are right around the corner!

The Busy-ness of life!

Wow, it's been a while since I have blogged. We have really been enjoying spending time with each other every night since Logan is working days now.

Lately, we have just been doing things we enjoy. We went up 2 weeks ago to visit Logan's family. We had a really good time seeing Greg and Alexis' baby. We just think she is adorable! And Logan got his phone upgraded and he decided to get the new "DROID" phone that you see on tv and everywhere verizon advertises and is loving it. Last weekend, we went and got items to put in our food storage such as flour, wheat, and beans and went shopping to get some new garments. Then this weekend we went on a hike friday afternoon, and swimming at our local swimming pool.

Work for both of us has been going well. Logan likes working days, but being in a high traffic area gets to see all the crazy things drivers do when passing construction zones...he has a story almost daily. I have been doing very well in my work as well. The company seems to be picking up and we are constantly thinking of things to do to keep the guys motivated.

That's about it from us for now. We are still trying to figure out what we are going to do this upcoming weekend, seeing as how it is the 4th.

Time, Time, and No Time!

This week has been insane! I have been busy with work, so many meetings and things to get done so we can be organized for next month. Logan, well, works...a lot and when he gets up is going going going. It's been hard this last week trying to juggle our schedules so we can see and spend some time together. Logan has been busy getting ready for the big Motorcycling trip that he is excited to go on this upcoming weekend. In fact, the time we spent together yesterday consisted of going shopping for him some Sunday pants! He wanted to look good when they announce our new calling today! Some how, we seem to juggle enough to spend time together. Hopefully, after this week, things will slow down a bit and we can get life back to normal as we know it!

Weekends are Great!!!

Another week down and another one to go. We have been so crazy, with our schedule I mean. Logan is now working nights EVERY night from 6pm to 6am! So we get to see each other for about 30 minutes in the morning and then have to rely on the phone the rest of the day. We have come to be very thankful for those!

However, desipite his bad schedule, we find time to spend together as often as we can. Such as yesterday. We went hiking at Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was a lot of fun and nice to get out. We hiked up the side of the mountain to a cliff that overlooked the road. When we got there we had a small picnic and talked for a little bit before we headed back down. It was really fun and a pretty site so see.

We had lots of fun with family coming to visit. Logan's family stayed with us last weekend and my dad and brother stayed with us this weekend. We love family and are glad they take the time to come see us!

The past couple weeks have been really crazy busy for us. Logan decided to get a motorcycle for the riding season. In fact he and Todd just went riding yesterday! They had a lot of fun. Logan crashed...just a small one, gave him some pretty nice scrapes, and decided he needs to get used to the power his new bike has.

Just last weekend, Logan and I had our 1 year anniversary and we had lots of fun. We went to the Hogle Zoo. It was my first time being there and we had a blast looking at all the animals. They even had a new baby elephant that was completely adorable!!! After the zoo we went on a short hike and when we returned we decided to go out to eat. It was a really good day.

We both have been so busy, Logan started up work again full time so he leaves early in the morning. The company I was working for changed to a corporate company just at the beginning of the month and they hired me to be the administrative assistant. So I have been really busy putting in long hours at the office with the general manger (who by the way I think is awesome) trying to get organized and figure out just what exactly we need to be doing. I was surprised she suggested me for the position considering that I had only been there 2 months prior. But it has turned out well.

So that's what we have been up to and we hope everyone is doing well and have a wonderful week!!

Nature & Family

Over the weekend, we went to visit Tracie's family 1) cause it was Tracie's Birthday, and 2) cause her sister had prom this weekend and Tracie wanted to do her hair!

We left on Thursday and made it there in time to go to Tracie's brother, Tate's game. It was awesome to watch him play. He played the first baseman, and also pitched for the last few innings and won the game for his team!

On Friday, we went shopping with Tracie's mom for her birthday. Tracie got very spoiled and got some really fun gifts! Then later that night we had a cake and ice cream party, then watched

a movie in her parent's new theatre room. On Saturday, we had a

really fun day planned. We went HIKING!!!! It was so much fun!

We started out at Dierke's Lake and walked around to the top of the canyon and to the other side of the lake. Then while the parents finished the hike around the lake, we took a detour to the Hidden Lakes. After which we met up with the rest of the family and had a picnic! Played games, and took the hike to a close.

Later that night, Tracie did her sister's hair and she looked ssssooooooo gorgeous. I wish I had a pic to show you all.

We had such a great time and loved spending time together!

Friday Night Date!

Logan decided that he wanted to make me dinner on Friday night, and so he decided to make pizza. He needed my help making the dough and I decided that this was going to be too fun to miss.

We rolled the dough out on the stone and since we don't have rolling pin, we got creative and used one of our drinking cups.

So we put some sauce (spaghetti sauce) on it, added some cheese, and put it in the oven for Logan and me!!

We had so much fun making pizza together!!! But the best part was eating it!

Been A While

Hey everyone, it's been a while since we have blogged. We haven't had internet for about a month and was using the computers at the local library for our internet source. Anywho, we have internet now!

Not too much has been happening lately. We have had lots of fun playing with Todd, Meg, and Chloe. We also had some visitor's the last couple weeks. Logan's friend Ryan from Rexburg, came to look for houses and stopped by and we went to dinner. Then Momma Thompson and Grandma Whiting stopped by for some grub on their way down to see family. (Which by the way I am dying to come see little Truman but don't want to overwhelm David and Liz.) It was nice to see everyone and we are glad they came by to see us in our new apartment.

Tracie is working part time as a Telemarketer for Coit Cleaning Services, and doing very well. However, is still working on getting her Utah Cosmetology License. Logan worked for about 3-4 weeks and then his company said that they had to wait for some inspection and has now been out of work for almost a month!! He is looking for any work he can until his other job starts to pick up again. (Hopefully very soon!)

So that's us and what we have been up to. Sorry we don't have any pictures, Tracie's not much of a picture taker.

The Pay-Off

Many times while Tracie was in school we wondered if her schooling was going to pay off. All those times she drug Logan into the school to get a pedicure, a manicure, a facial, a scalp treatment, and a haircut just so she could get her curriculum done. Well, now we see the light!!! Tracie got her test results back for her practical exam and scored a 94%! She was excited and then a couple days later, received her Idaho license in the mail! Now, the next step is applying for her Utah one. Then she will be free to work in any salon she wishes! We can't wait!

Week-end Fun

This week has been an interesting one. Tracie went to Twin Falls last Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for two reasons: 1) Her dad fixed her car (so when you turn it doesn't sound like your axle's about to pop off at any moment); and 2) She took her State Board practical test to get her license! She lots of fun spending time with her family, going to watch her brother play basketball, couch shopping with mom, and watching cousins. However, the trip to Boise was an unforgettable experience! Simply because we left at 3:00 am, and had 7 puppies in the car with us that no matter what we did they just wouldn't stop howling! Besides all that, she enjoyed spending the day with her parents. Then of course there is nothing like going home to see a husband that is so excited to see you too. :)
Then to start off our week, Logan had work, which he is starting to enjoy more, and Tracie started work also! Tracie got a job working as a telemarketer for Coit Cleaning Services. Everything seems to be looking up and up for us!!

On the Hunt and a valuable lesson learned

Logan and I have been on a hunt the last couple days...or weeks. Logan got sick last week and because of it, doesn't have work anymore. And me, well no one wants to hire me because I just finished Beauty School and want to do that someday and everyone wants me to stay long term. So after applying for job after job after job, it was looking very grim. Sunday rolled around and I noticed that we were behind on tithing and of course we were getting low on money with no jobs. So, we had a decision to make and after a short talk I sternly told Logan that we ARE paying our tithing because we can't afford to not have the Lord's help. As a good couple we paid our tithing and hoped that everything would work out. The next day,(today) we got up, did our normal morning routine: got ready for the day, ate breakfast, checked emails, checked job websites...etc. I noticed on one of the websites that there was a job for a Flagger-which Logan has his certification for but has never used- and wrote down the address so Logan could go apply as well as to a bunch of other places. Well, what do you know, tithing really does pay off because when Logan went into that company to apply for the Flagging position they hired him on the spot!

We are so grateful for the gospel and the blessings it brings by following the commandments we have been given. After all "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it." -anonymous.

However as for me, I'm still on the search, but have some promising avenues.

Adventurous Snowshoeing!!

Logan decided that he needed to pick a new hobby while I was away at school. So he and Todd planned to go snowshoeing one day and Logan had tried to get me to go ever since...

They went to Big Cotton Wood Canyon, trail they went on: Day Pass. They went up about 8:00am, and got home around 2:00pm.

After School Fun

Well, we did it!! We made it through school. I finished on January 21st and came right down to Utah to be with Logan. It is such a wonderful feeling! So the first weekend, we went out with Todd, Meg, and Chloe. We went up to Park City, had dinner, did a little shopping at their outlet stores, and made it to the Burton snowboarding competition. Logan was so excited to be there. But due to the fact that it was freezing up there and traffic was going to be disasterous, we left before it was over. However we had lots of fun hanging out with Todd and the gang.

Logan Got a Job

Logan has been anxiously waiting for a call to know when he can start work in Utah. We went down there for an interview at the end of October and they gave him a textbook to read of about 220 pages and he finished it in about two weeks! Way to go! So then they gave him a test on it and he aced it with a 100%! Yeah! So now he is just waiting to find out when he can go down and work.
In the mean time, he has friends here that have been keeping him busy doing home improvement projects.

To celebrate Halloween, Logan and I were invited to a Murder Mystery Party and we had a blast! I was the main charactor's daughter and ended up being the murderer! Imagine that! Logan was a guest visitor at the party who was supposed to marry me! We had tons of fun and got some fun prizes!
On Halloween day, I had school and was required to wear a costume so I threw on one of my old pink prom dresses, curled my hair, put on a sparkly headband and claimed I was a princess. After school Logan and I went down to mom and dad Thompson's house to spend the evening. We had lots of fun!!

The Begining of Blogging for us

Hey Everyone! Logan finally convinced me to start a blog. We hope that everyone is healthy and life is going well.
This last week we went to Utah for Logan's new job interview. It went well and we had a blast together. Besides the interview, we went and visited the Peppermint Place, Thanksgiving Point, and some family. We enjoyed visiting with the Cook family-and Grandma Whiting was even there! We also went to visit David and Liz and their family. Even though we didn't stay long, we had fun playing with their beautiful kids. That night Todd and Meg took us to dinner at Tepanyaki and we had a complete blast! We still talk about it and every once in a while Logan tries out some of our chef's moves.
Logan should be starting his new job soon and until we find out when, we have some wonderful friends that have been keeping him busy with work.
